VOV.VN - Railway businesses and developers of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea signed cooperation documents on railway development at a joint forum held in Hanoi on March 31.

The 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Railways Chief Executive Officers (CEOs)’ Conference opened in the central city of Da Nang on August 23.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Transport on October 20 signed a record of discussion for a project on strengthening the urban railway training capacity for the Railway College.

Vietnam will add 18 new routes, 1,528km in total length, to its national railway network by 2050, according to a draft planning for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on October 28 stressed the need for the railway system to be upgraded in order to serve national development.
