Vietnam has appreciated the strong support and solidarity from international partners and diplomatic missions in helping local communities recover from the recent devastation caused by Typhoons Bualoi and Matmo, according to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep.

The Government of the Republic of Korea (RoK) has committed US$1 million to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support Vietnam's recovery efforts under the “Inclusive early recovery and reconstruction programme after Typhoon Yagi”.

Indonesian Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy on October 8 announced that the country will allocate US$1 million to aid Vietnam's efforts to recover from severe damage caused by Typhoon Yagi in September.

Typhoon Yagi has caused severe damage in many provinces and cities in the northern region, including major tourist centres such as Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Sa Pa (Lao Cai). In an effort to overcome the damage, many localities have organised activities to welcome tourists back.

The assistance provided by the international community and overseas Vietnamese to the victims of Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam is invaluable, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang has stated.
