VOV.VN - Overseas Vietnamese in Australia have expressed strong interest in the upcoming 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam at home, voicing expectations that the event will deliver policy breakthroughs to strengthen the country’s competitiveness in a changing global environment.
The Homeland 2026 Spring programme, themed “Vietnam’s Aspiration: Peace and Prosperity”, will be held on February 8 in Hanoi, according to the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Overseas Vietnamese intellectuals in Thailand have stated that the Party’s and State’s increasing support for their participation in policy-making is a key move to tap the expertise of the Vietnamese community abroad as the country enters a new development phase.
The collection of public feedback, including from overseas Vietnamese (OVs), on the draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress reflects the consistent view that Vietnamese expatriates are an inseparable part of the nation, according to Dr Nguyen Thai Chinh, a specialist in earth science and satellite geodesy.

Representing more than 6.5 million overseas Vietnamese (OV) worldwide returning home to attend the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, many overseas delegates expressed their joy and pride in being part of the national unity bloc, along with a strong aspiration to join hands in building a prosperous country.
Overseas Vietnamese (OV) are not only an inseparable part of the nation but also a vital bridge in Vietnam’s international integration and development, said Nguyen Hong Son, President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Japan (UVAJ) and a delegate to the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasised the need to develop a sustainable and high-quality overseas Vietnamese community, calling for breakthroughs in national unity, community growth, and mobiliation of resources to support the Fatherland’s development.
Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasised that the intellectual and science – technology resources of the overseas Vietnamese (OV) community are a strategic advantage for Vietnam in the global race in the new era.
