Vietnam is now one of the world's top 10 countries for pork consumption, latest statistics have revealed.
VOV.VN - Vietnam imported more than 716,000 tonnes of meat and meat products worth US$1.43 billion in 2023, according to the Import and Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Vietnam imported more than 60,800 tonnes of meat and meat products worth US$124.85 million in July, a year-on-year fall of 1.1% and 11.2%, respectively, according to the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
VOV.VN - Vietnam spent a total of US$480.32 million on importing meat and meat products during the first five months of the year, representing a rise of 1.6% in volume but a fall of 9.1% in value compared to the same period from last year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s import of meat and related products is not expected to increase dramatically later this year due to an abundant domestic supply that basically meets demand, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Import-Export Management.
