President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen on January 7 highlighted the invaluable contributions of the Cambodian revolutionary armed forces and Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, who bravely fought and laid down their lives to overthrow the genocidal Pol Pot regime, ensuring the revival of the Cambodian people.

Vietnamese experts have joined their Cambodian peers and Cambodian youngsters a trip held by the Documentation Centre of Cambodia (DC-Cam) to historical sites related to the Pol Pot genocidal regime in the neighbouring country to collect data and stories of this period.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Hun Many, who is a member of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Standing Committee, Secretary-General of the CPP Central Committee’s Mass Movement Commission, Deputy PM, Minister of Civil Service of Cambodia, and President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, in Hanoi on July 5.

Vietnam strongly condemns the crime of genocide and has made various specific efforts and taken meaningful actions to end this crime and punish genocidal criminals, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), affirmed on May 23.

A ceremony was held in the town of Ba Chuc, Tri Ton district, the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on April 24 to commemorate people massacred by the Pol Pot genocidal regime in 1978 during the southwestern border defence war.
