Young Vietnamese player wins Annual K&W Summer Jr Satellite 2019

VOV.VN -Sophia Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi, a Ho Chi Minh city native and a rising star in the sport of tennis, was victorious in the Girls' 14 Singles event which took place as part of the 13th Annual K&W Summer Jr Satellite 2019, which concluded in San Diego on July 15.

Despite going on to ultimately win the event, Sophia Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi was not among the top seeds of the 11 tennis players taking part in the competition. During the first round, the 13-year-old beat Riley Reeves 2-0 before progressing straight to the semi-finals as her opponent Sarah Emmons forfeited their quarter-final clash.

During the semi-finals, the Ho Chi Minh city local enjoyed a win over number one seed Juliana Hong with a score of 2-0.

In the final of the tournament, Sophia Huynh Ngoc Tran Nhi defeated number two seed Hokulea Rezentes 2-0 to become champion.
