Nguyen Van Phuong qualifies for second round of Wimbledon Juniors

VOV.VN -Young Vietnamese tennis player Nguyen Van Phuong, world No.64, was able to defeat Finn Murgett of the UK, world No.313, in the qualifying round of the Grand Slam boy’s singles event at Wimbledon on July 4.

During the first set, Phuong beat Finn Murgett 7-5. The second set saw the UK player fight back and hold the Vietnamese player to a draw.

In the third set, Phuong once again enjoyed victory over Finn Murgett with the final score at 2-1.

The young Vietnamese tennis player will next face off against Loris Pourroy of France, world No.91, in the second round. If Phuong is able to win the match, he will earn a slot in the main round of the boy’s singles at Wimbledon.
