The golf competition took place from October 23–25 at the Royal Golf Club, Bahrain, featuring four events - men’s individual, women’s individual, men’s team, and women’s team.
In the men’s individual category, Nguyen Tuan Anh, 16, delivered a stunning final round of 66 (-6), with seven birdies and one bogey, narrowly missing gold by just one stroke to China’s Han Jin who won gold with -12. His teammate Doan Uy placed fourth with -3.
In the men’s team category, both Nguyen Tuan Anh and Doan Uy together claimed silver with a total of -14, while China took gold at -15.
In the women’s category, Le Chuc An finished 10th with a total of -9, while Nguyen Vu Hoang Anh and Le Chuc An together helped the women’s team secure fifth place.
The Vietnamese golf delegation at AYG 2025 comprises four athletes - Doan Uy and Nguyen Tuan Anh in the men’s category, and Le Chuc An and Nguyen Vu Hoang Anh in the women’s category.
They all demonstrated remarkable progress competing against strong regional rivals at the tournament. Their historic medals mark the first time golf has contributed to Vietnam’s medal tally at the Asian Youth Games and continue the sport’s rising success following three medals at SEA Games 32.
Vietnamese golf now looks ahead to SEA Games 33 in Thailand this December, aiming to build on this success and further strengthen its international standing.
