Vietnam women’s team step up preparations ahead of Asian tournament
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s women’s national team continued preparations in Perth on March 1 with their second training session in Australia, fine-tuning tactics ahead of the upcoming 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
After a seven-day training camp in China, the squad quickly adapted to local weather and pitch conditions.
The coaching staff focused on sharpening tactical organization, improving coordination between defense, midfield and attack, and adjusting workloads in line with the competition schedule.
Forward Ngoc Minh Chuyen said the team are working hard ahead of the tournament. “We had seven days of training in China, which allowed us to draw lessons from each match and prepare thoroughly before entering the competition,” she said.
Having previously competed at the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup finals, Ngoc Minh Chuyen described those international experiences as important preparation. She said facing high-quality youth teams, particularly from Japan, helped her gain valuable experience ahead of another major continental event.
Expressing her pride at being trusted by the coaching staff, the young forward said she would continue to learn and improve. She described the tournament as a significant milestone in her career.
Earlier the same day, the team met with representatives of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at their hotel to receive a briefing on general tournament information and updates to the Laws of the Game. Preparations are being carried out in a coordinated manner to ensure the Vietnam women’s team enter the competition with full focus and determination.
