Vietnam wins bronze medal in boxing at Asian Games
VOV.VN - Local fighter Luu Diem Quynh earned a bronze medal for Vietnam on October 3 in the 75 kg women's boxing event at the ongoing Asian Games, which is taking place in Hangzhou in China.
Despite her best efforts, Quynh lost out to Li Quan of host China in the semifinals with the score of 5-0 to ultimately finish with a bronze medal. This is the country’s first medal today and the fourth bronze medal won by a Vietnamese boxer in the history of the Asian Games.
With Quynh's bronze, Vietnam now have won one gold, three silver, and 14 bronze medals, thereby putting them in 18th as part of the overall standings at the Asian Games this year.
