Vietnam beat Macau, win 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Cup ticket

VOV.VN - Vietnam have secured a spot in the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Cup finals after their resounding 21-0 victory over Macau (China) in a Women’s Futsal Asian Cup Qualifier on January 17.

After an opening 5-1 victory over Myanmar on January 15, the Vietnamese team aimed to clinch another win over underdogs Macau in their second match of the qualification to secure their place in the tournament finals.

Facing much weaker opponents, Vietnamese girls dominated the game and scored goals continuously. Within the first 20 minutes of the first half, Vietnam had already led 13-0, with Phuong Anh and Thu Xuan each completing a hat-trick.

In the second half, Vietnam played at a slower pace and reduced their offensive intensity. However, captain Thanh Hang and her teammates still managed to add eight more goals, sealing a 21-0 victory.

With this result, Vietnam retained their position at the top of the group with a perfect six points from two matches. This standout performance guaranteed coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang’s team one of the top two spots in the group, thereby ensuring their ticket to the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Cup finals, scheduled for May 2025 in Inner Mongolia, China.

If Vietnam achieve a top-three finish in the Asian tournament, they will qualify for the 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup, set to take place in November in the Philippines.
