Quyet Chien triumphs at HBSF MIN Table 2025 Billiards Champ

VOV.VN - Leading Vietnamese cueist Tran Quyet Chien delivered a stunning performance to claim the men’s three-cushion carom title at the HBSF MIN Table 2025 Championship, also earning the tournament’s Best Game award.

The final day of the competition on December 5 featured four finals across different categories: men’s and women’s three-cushion carom, and men’s and women’s nine-ball pool.

In the men’s three-cushion final, Tran Quyet Chien defeated Nguyen Nhat Hoa 50-33 over 15 innings to secure the championship. The world-class player displayed exceptional form throughout the tournament.

In the quarterfinals, he overwhelmed Nguyen Nhu Le 40-9 in just nine innings, including a 20-2 lead after the first two innings. In the semifinals, Chien beat World Cup champion Tran Thanh Luc 50-34 over 21 innings.

For his victory, Chien received the championship trophy, VND100 million in prize money, and the Best Game award worth VND5 million, earned for a 4.444 points-per-inning performance against Nhu Le.

Runner-up Nguyen Nhat Hoa walked away with VND40 million, while joint third-place finishers Vo Quoc Thang and Tran Thanh Luc each received VND15 million.

In the men’s nine-ball pool final, Duong Quoc Hoang edged out Pham Phuong Nam in a tightly contested match. Tied at 8-8, Hoang capitalised on his opponent’s mistakes to win three consecutive racks and take the match 11-8.

Hoang received the championship trophy and VND70 million in prize money, while runner-up Pham Phuong Nam took home VND30 million. Joint third-place finishers Nguyen Van Hung Phu and Ho Minh Hanh were awarded VND10 million each.

Bui Xuan Vang continued her dominance in women’s nine-ball pool, defeating Le Hong Nhung 8-4 in the final to claim the title and VND20 million in prize money.

In the women’s three-cushion carom category, Korean player Choi Bo-me emerged victorious, beating compatriot Park Ji-hyun 30-19 over 26 innings. Choi received the championship trophy and VND20 million, while runner-up Park Ji-hyun took home VND10 million.
