Binh Dien Long An claim silver at AVC Women's Champions League 2025
VOV.VN - Vietnamese side Binh Dien Long An proudly secured the runner-up position after a 1-3 loss to powerhouse Zhetysu of Kazakhstan in the final game of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Champions League 2025 in the Philippines on April 27 evening.

Facing the tournament’s only undefeated team, Binh Dien Long An entered the final without two key players - Lu Thi Phuong and foreign import Natalia Lijewska, who were sidelined by a tactical decision from head coach Thai Quang Lai.
Meanwhile, Zhetysu fielded their strongest lineup, featuring three outstanding Ukrainian players who had impressed spectators throughout the tournament.
Despite being at a disadvantage in height and experience, Binh Dien Long An fought valiantly. After losing the opening set 14-25, the Vietnamese girls rallied to claim a 25-20 victory in the second set, becoming the first team to take a set off Zhetysu in the entire competition.
However, the Kazakh champions quickly regrouped, narrowly edging out a 25-23 win in the third set before sealing the match with a 25-18 victory in the fourth, clinching the championship title with a 3-1 overall score.
By finishing as runners-up, Binh Dien Long An walked away with a US$15,000 prize. Some of their players also received individual honours, with Vi Thi Nhu Quynh named Best Outside Hitter, Nguyen Khanh Dang the Best Libero, and Tran Thi Thanh Thuy the Best Opposite Hitter.
Both Zhetysu and Binh Dien Long An will represent Asia at the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Club World Championship 2025.
