Vietnam to face China and Iran at Asian women's volleyball tournament

VOV.VN - The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) held a draw on March 12, with Vietnamese club VTV Binh Dien Long An placed into Pool C alongside Baic Motorvolleyball of China and Iran Volleyball of Iran at the Asian Women's Volleyball Champions League.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in the Philippines from April 20 to 27, involving the participation of 12 clubs.

The clubs from Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong (China) will vie for the championship title.

The two top teams from the tournament will qualify for the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship.

Over recent years Vietnamese representatives have won high prizes at the Asian Women’s Volleyball Champions League, including fourth place in 2011, becoming champions in 2023, and finishing as runners-up in 2024.

The same day, the AVC conducted a draw for the Asian Men's Volleyball Champions League where 12 teams were divided into four groups.

This year the Vietnamese representatives will compete under the team name of Sport Training Center 3. They will compete in Pool D together with Al-Rayyan Sports of Qatar and Bahrain Club of Bahrain.

The men’s tournament is scheduled to take place in Japan from May 11 to 18.
