This statement was made by Ngo Minh Hien, vice president of VOV, at a reception for Pierre Du Ville, head of the Wallonia-Brussels General Delegation to Vietnam, on November 6 in Hanoi.
During the 2022 to 2024 period, each year the French Community of Belgium sponsored two VOV reporters to hold a two-month training course in the European country, whilst many Belgian experts traveled to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in order to help train local reporters.
Currently, two reporters of VOV1 and VOV5 channels are taking part in a training course at Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF) which is the public broadcasting organisation of the French Community of Belgium.
These training courses focus on providing opportunities for reporters to access new technologies in radio and television, improve their skills, and produce better quality programmes, Hien noted.
He went on to express hope that the Wallonia-Brussels General Delegation to Vietnam will continue to support the press in general and VOV in particular as part of efforts to produce programmes on multi-media platforms.
For his part, Pierre Du Ville outlined the great value of co-operation projects with VOV and expressed hope that more and more VOV reporters will have the chance to study abroad and exchange experience moving forward.
Pierre Du Ville assumed the new task in Vietnam from September this year. The meeting was held when VOV and Vietnam News Agency reviewed the quality of co-operation projects during the 2022 to 2024 period and prepared new co-operation projects in the next 2025 to 2027 term.
