Typhoon Yinxing enters East Sea, heads towards central Vietnam

At 4:00a.m. Yinxing was swirling across the eastern waters of the northern part of the East Sea, packing winds of 150-166 kmh, with gusts up to nearly 200kph. It was moving westward at a speed of around 15 km/h.

The latest forecast indicates that after entering the East Sea, the typhoon will primarily move westward toward the northern Paracel Islands. It is then expected to shift to a west-northwest direction, followed by a west-southwest direction, heading toward the waters off the central provinces of Vietnam.

However, as Yinxing approaches the Paracel Islands, its intensity is likely to weaken. By the time it reaches the mainland, it is expected to be downgraded or potentially further weaken into a tropical depression.

The meteorological agency warned that the path and intensity of Yinxing remain complex and could change, so residents are advised to stay updated through subsequent bulletins.

On November 7, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a directive on behalf of the Prime Minister, urging relevant ministries and local authorities to proactively prepare for Yinxing.

The PM asked 16 provinces and cities to review their emergency response plans, be ready to evacuate people from high-risk areas, and take prompt action to ensure the safety of residents and protect property as the typhoon approaches.
