Typhoon Yinxing likely to enter East Sea this weekend

VOV.VN - A tropical cyclone east of the Philippines developed into Typhoon Yinxing early on November 4 and is likely to enter the East Sea this weekend, according to meteorologists.

Yinxing is moving in a northwest direction at a speed of 30 km/h and is expected to enter the East Sea on November 9 to become the seventh storm in the region said Le Thi Xuan Lan, a meteorological forecasting expert, citing forecasts from the US and Japanese meteorological agencies.

Currently, a strong cold front is moving into the northern region of Vietnam and is forecast to persist until around November 8-9 before losing grade. As Yinxing approaches the northeastern part of the East Sea, it will encounter this weak cold air, allowing it to potentially move northward toward the Paracel Islands of Vietnam and then toward Hainan Island in China.

However, the storm is anticipated to weaken further as it continues to be influenced by another cold air mass.

According to the meteorologist, Yinxing is a powerful storm, and its development remains complex.

These are preliminary forecasts that may change, she said, urging the public, especially those engaged in maritime activities, to stay vigilant and keep updated on the latest developments.
