Two tourists rescued after getting lost in Tay Yen Tu forest

VOV.VN - Two tourists have been safely rescued after getting lost in a forested area while trekking to Dong Pagoda via the western route of Yen Tu Mountain in northern Bac Ninh province.

Local police received an emergency call around noon on April 26 reporting that the pair had gone missing deep in the forest. One of them had been stung by wild bees and showed signs of fatigue and dizziness, raising concerns about possible exhaustion.

Rescue teams were quickly deployed, coordinating with fire and rescue forces and local staff to search along forest trails, streams and steep terrain.

The route from Tay Yen Tu to Dong Pagoda is known for its rugged landscape, dense vegetation and slippery slopes, making search efforts particularly challenging.

After several hours of searching, the two tourists were located in a remote area at around 4 p.m. the same day.

Rescuers provided first aid and stabilised their condition before escorting them out of the forest. Both individuals, reportedly students born in 2007, were in stable health after the rescue.

Local authorities cautioned visitors against trekking the forest route, especially at night, due to the high risk of getting lost or injured.

Dong Pagoda, situated at an altitude of 1,068 meters, can be accessed via designated trails or cable car services, which are recommended for safer travel.
