Two provinces report four more coronavirus cases on Feb. 7 morning
VOV.VN - The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control confirmed on February 7 morning four people have been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Hai Duong and Gia Lai provinces.
Three of the four patients are closely linked to Hai Duong’s Cam Giang district, a new coronavirus hotspot in northern Vietnam.
Hai Duong is one of the two localities where the virus first recurred in Vietnam late last month. The province has since recorded 293 infections, making 73% of the country’s total number of cases following the emergence of the fresh outbreak.
Hai Duong has completed the setting up of three field hospitals to accommodate and treat COVID-19 patients in the locality. The Ministry of Health has dispatched leading specialists to assist the province with diagnosis, epidemiological investigation and treatment of the patients.
The SARS-CoV-2 virus has spread to 12 cities and provinces since it attacked Vietnam in late January 2021. As many as 402 people have since been infected with the virus, mostly in Hai Duong (293) and Quang Ninh (47).
