Two kg of drugs seized at Moc Bai International Border Gate
VOV.VN - Customs officers at Moc Bai International Border Gate in Vietnam’s southern Tay Ninh province have intercepted nearly two kilograms of illicit drugs hidden inside a backpack, according to the Department of Customs under the Ministry of Finance.

The discovery occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. on June 6, during routine inspections of goods, luggage, and vehicles passing through the border gate. Officers, with the support of other relevant units, identified suspicious items concealed in a white-gray backpack belonging to Nguyen Hoang Giang, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City.
The detection was made possible through a combination of advanced luggage scanner imaging and the use of sniffer dogs. Upon inspection, officers found two nylon bags inside the backpack containing white solids, a white powder, and blue tablets, all suspected to be illegal narcotics.
In an initial statement, the individual admitted that the substances were drugs. Authorities immediately seized the evidence and placed the suspect under arrest.
Subsequent tests conducted by customs officers and other law enforcement forces confirmed the total weight of the seized substances to be approximately 1.93 kilograms.
The case, along with all related evidence and documentation, has been transferred to the Tay Ninh Provincial Drug Crime Investigation Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings in accordance with current regulations.
