Man caught red-handed transporting drugs from Laos

VOV.VN - The Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command said on May 16 they have arrested a suspect for illegally transporting over 14 kilograms of narcotics from Laos into Vietnam.

The man, a Vietnamese national, was detained on May 10 in La De commune, Nam Giang district, during a joint operation by the provincial border guard command, Nam Giang international border gate officials, border gate customs officers, and drug and crime prevention task force officials.

The suspect was caught while transporting illegal drugs from Sekong province, Laos, into Vietnam. Authorities seized 38 packages of narcotics, weighing a total of 14.3 kilograms, along with one automobile.

Currently, the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard continues to expand the investigation and is completing legal documentation for prosecution in accordance with Vietnamese law.
