Transnational drug trafficking ring smashed in central Vietnam
VOV.VN - The police of Vinh city, central Vietnam, have dismantled a transnational drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, arresting four individuals and seizing g over 28,000 synthetic drug pills along with other related evidence.
The operation began in the early hours of December 15, when authorities detained Tran The Hung, a local resident hailing from Ha Tinh province, confiscating 28,000 synthetic pills.
As part of the expanded investigation, Nguyen Quoc Cuong, a local drug dealer, was arrested and found with 2,501 packets of heroin and 107 synthetic pills.
Meanwhile, the border police in collaboration with authorities of Ky Son district apprehended Tong Cu Mua, a notorious drug kingpin from Laos, along with Mua Dua Thai, who was caught red handed transporting drugs from Laos into Vietnam.
They seized 100 synthetic pills and other materials.
The police are continuing their investigation and are pursuing further legal action against those involved.
