Three Vietnamese scientists named in Global Pasteur Network’s 40 Under 40
VOV.VN - Three Vietnamese doctors have been named among the “40 Young Faces Under 40” by the Global Pasteur Network, honouring their contributions to epidemiological research and public health protection.

Dr. Truong Thi Thuy Dung, 33, from the Pasteur Institute Ho Chi Minh City, was honoured for her innovative use of data analytics in measles outbreak forecasting and control, enhancing early response strategies.
Dr. Pham Van Khang, 37, from the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Hanoi, was recognised for his contributions to measles epidemiology, particularly his research into disease risks and vaccine monitoring, which provides critical data for public health planning.
Dr. Le Hoang Thieu, 33, from the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang, was awarded for his research on rabies and other infectious diseases, contributing to practical solutions for disease prevention and control in Vietnam.
The “40 Under 40” initiative launched by Global Pasteur Network celebrates emerging leaders in global health and biomedical research. The awards were presented during the 2025 Pasteur Network Annual Meeting, held in Ho Chi Minh City from October 21 – 23.
This year marks the first time the conference is being hosted in both Asia and Vietnam, bringing together hundreds of scientists, health leaders, and experts from around the world to discuss global public health strategies and scientific collaboration.
Vietnam is home to three institutions within the Global Pasteur Network: the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang. These institutes play a vital role in regional and international health efforts, including vaccine research, disease surveillance, and epidemic response.
