Tech giant FPT unveils US$200million AI factory in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Vietnamese tech giant FPT has officially launched its US$200 million AI factory in Vietnam, to support businesses and organizations in developing cutting-edge AI solutions.
The AI factory aims to drive innovation, enabling the creation of advanced AI technologies to enhance business operations across various sectors.
The launch reflects Vietnam’s growing emphasis on technological development and AI as a core component of its future economy. It is expected strengthen FPT’s position in the AI market, both locally and internationally, and contribute to Vietnam’s digital transformation initiatives.
The tech giant also unveiled a strategic partner ecosystem to develop its AI Factory, collaborating with major players like NVIDIA, SCSK, Asus, HP, Vast Data, and DDA Storage.
The launch was unveiled at FPT Techday 2024 taking place in Ho Chi Minh City on November 13-14. It comes after the tech giant’s announcement to build a similar AI factory in Japan.
According to FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh, the AI factory is a critical platform for developing both the human economy and AI agents, representing the new workforce of the technology era.
By expanding cooperation and advancing the FPT AI Factory, the company will empower organizations and businesses by unlocking the potential and power of AI, creating unique competitive advantages based on knowledge, data, and the culture of each business and nation, said Binh.
Dennis Ang, senior business director for the Asia-Pacific region at NVIDIA, highlighted how AI is reshaping nations and industries. He pointed out that to leverage NVIDIA’s comprehensive AI platform, FPT is working to expand the AI factory model to support global businesses.
The factory utilizes NVIDIA’s advanced technologies and thousands of graphics chips to offer high-performance computing infrastructure, accelerating the development of AI solutions, enabling the deployment of large-scale AI and machine learning models, and reducing costs by up to 45%, he said.
FPT Techday is an annual technology forum organized by FPT since 2013. The event brings together thousands of individuals and businesses from various sectors to explore emerging technologies, foster collaboration, and discuss innovations in fields such as AI, digital transformation, and cloud computing.
