FPT and NUS cooperate in developing AI human resources
VOV.VN - FPT, one of the leading technology companies in Vietnam, and the National University of Singapore’s School of Computing (NUS Computing) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in developing a workforce for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry in Vietnam.
Under the MoU, both sides will establish a modern research lab and invest in accelerating innovation and training experts in the field of AI.
Furthermore, FPT will join the NUS and other enterprises in the AI ecosystem of Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region to mobilise US$50 million over the next five years for pioneering activities in researching and developing talents in the field of AI.
This partnership is expected to assist FPT in promoting the commercialisation of AI-driven solutions whilst improving the overall research capacity and accelerating the development of the high-quality AI workforce, thereby enhancing the group's competitive advantage both in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.
One of the key activities of the MoU is that both sides will work together in a bid to set up an AI research lab, which is aimed at researching and developing advanced technologies to further contribute to promoting innovation in the AI field in Vietnam, Singapore, as well as the wider region.
Simultaneously, researchers and experts of the AI Research Lab will jointly publish research works, white papers in prestigious international journals and conferences, while also sharing new discoveries with the global academic community and businesses.
Moreover, FPT and NUS Computing will also seek opportunities to commercialise AI-integrated solutions, products, and services that are jointly developed by both sides specifically for the global market.
