In the face of the strong development of communication technology, the radio broadcasting industry is increasingly asserting its position and role as a sharp ideological weapon, a key information channel, and a pioneer that leads and orients the public, he said.

Radio broadcasting is a reliable forum for people to engage in supervision, criticism, and social management, serving as a bridge between the Party, State and people, contributing to creating social consensus and strengthening people’s trust in the Party and State, he noted.

He reminded the industry to uphold its glorious tradition, maintain its pioneering role on the Party’s ideological and cultural front, and be worthy of the trust and expectations of the Party, State and people.

Taking the floor, Do Tien Sy, president of the Voice of Vietnam, affirmed that the festival creates a great source of encouragement to radio broadcasters to successfully complete assigned tasks and maintain their role as pioneers on the cultural and ideological front.

He thanked the Party, State and local governments for their support and assistance to the radio broadcasting industry over the past times, and expected that the industry would continue to receive additional assistance to accomplish its mission.

Held every two years, the National Radio Broadcasting Festival aims not only to honour outstanding authors and works of radio journalists but also to offer the opportunity to journalists, editors, and reporters to exchange, learn, improve professional skills, contributing to improving the quality of radio programs.

The 16th National Radio Broadcasting Festival is organized by the Voice of Vietnam in coordination with the People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa province and the Radio and Television Station of Thanh Hoa province.
