Political theory course for Lao officials concludes in Ho Chi Minh City
VOV.VN - A graduation ceremony was held on May 19 for an advanced political theory course designed for officials from Champasak province, Laos, at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Region II.
The programme was organised under a cooperation agreement between the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Champasak province, with coordination from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and relevant agencies.
The course opened on December 17, 2025, with 15 participants who are officials and managers from Champasak province.
Over more than five months, the trainees completed an advanced political theory curriculum across 17 subjects tailored for officials of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. The curriculum included Marxist-Leninist philosophy, Ho Chi Minh Thought, Kaysone Phomvihane Thought, the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, leadership and management science, socio-economic development, and field research programmes in Ho Chi Minh City and Lam Dong province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tan Vinh, director of the Academy II, praised the students’ strong commitment, discipline and solidarity despite challenges related to language, culture and living conditions.
All 15 participants graduated with distinction, while several individuals and the class collective received commendations for outstanding academic performance and active participation in extracurricular activities.
Nguyen Manh Cuong, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, congratulated the trainees on successfully completing the programme.
He noted that this was the first advanced political theory training course for officials from Champasak province held in Ho Chi Minh City, helping implement cooperation commitments between the two localities while strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The city leader expressed hope that after returning home, the graduates would continue applying the knowledge and experience gained during the course to contribute to the development of Champasak province and Laos as a whole.
