New FPT technology park aims to create innovation-led growth in Hanoi
VOV.VN - FPT Corporation and the Hanoi People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony on January 16 for a digital technology and mixed-use park, a project expected to help form new growth engines driven by science, technology, and innovation.
The project, located in Tay Tuu and Phu Dien wards and covering a total planned area of 196.8 hectares, will be carried out from 2026 to 2031, with the first phase targeted for completion and operation in 2027.
According to FPT, the project is aligned with national strategies to strengthen Hanoi’s role as a major centre for economic development, education, science and technology, as well as Vietnam’s broader agenda on innovation and digital transformation.
Designed and operated in line with green building standards, the project will promote sustainable development while establishing an integrated “Work – Live – Innovate” ecosystem. The core component is a concentrated digital technology park covering approximately 168.9 hectares, dedicated to innovation, digital transformation and advanced technology development.
The remaining area will be developed as an open park featuring internal transport infrastructure, green spaces and water surfaces, creating a high-quality environment for working, research and living.
Through the project, Hanoi and FPT aim to create a comprehensive ecosystem to support technology research, production and development, attract domestic and international experts and scientists, and foster a vibrant innovation and startup community. It is expected to become FPT’s largest concentrated digital technology park nationwide.
In the long term, the development is expected to reinforce Hanoi’s position as Vietnam’s political and administrative centre, while strengthening its leadership role in science, technology and innovation, including policy experimentation, talent development and the testing of new technologies.
Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Truong Viet Dung emphasised that the digital technology park is envisioned as a key nucleus within the capital’s innovation ecosystem, supporting the goal of turning Hanoi into a national hub for science, technology and the digital economy.
He noted that FPT’s long-term investment reflects a strong commitment by a domestic technology enterprise to developing core technologies, contributing to the sustainable growth of both the capital and the country.
Meanwhile, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh stressed that in the new era, technology is not only a driver of growth and productivity but also a foundation for national self-reliance and national defence.
He expressed confidence that the technology park will become a major hub for technological talent, connecting research, education, and businesses, and serving as a center for innovation in strategic technologies.
“We believe the project will help affirm Hanoi’s position as the country’s science and technology centre and gradually realize the vision of a ‘Silicon Valley’ of Vietnam,” Binh said.
