VieON, FPT Play remove Chinese film containing nine‑dash line scene

VOV.VN - Streaming platforms VieON and FPT Play have removed the Chinese drama Love's Ambition (Hãy để tôi tỏa sáng) from their services in Vietnam after discovering a scene depicting the nine‑dash line, which violates Vietnam’s sovereignty.

The controversial scene appears in episode 16, showing the nine‑dash line on a map. On October 3, FPT Play confirmed the film had been removed from its domain name, application, and related infrastructure. Meanwhile, VieON and TV360 also no longer offer the drama.

The 32‑episode series, available on multiple Vietnamese streaming platforms since September 26, quickly gained popularity on social media for its fresh storyline, distinguishing it from typical Chinese romantic dramas. Following the revelation of the disputed scene, many fanpages stopped posting updates about the film from the night of October 2.

This is not the first time Chinese productions have been pulled from Vietnamese platforms for similar reasons. Previous cases include Flight to You and Go Ahead, which were also banned for featuring the nine‑dash line.
