Hanoi summit affirms KOLs’ role and responsibility in society
VOV.VN - A summit of Key Opinion Leaders (KOL Summit 2025) opened in Hanoi on August 18, bringing together around 300 KOLs along with representatives of government agencies, businesses, and digital platforms from 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

This is the first national-scale event of its kind in Vietnam, providing a forum to connect the KOL community with stakeholders, spread positive values, and accompany the country’s sustainable development in the digital era.
The summit aims to promote the role of KOLs in national construction, defence, and development, while affirming their responsibility and role in spreading positive, humane, and sustainable values. It also serves as an open forum for KOLs to share their journeys of becoming “leaders,” and to directly engage with government authorities, enterprises, and digital platforms such as TikTok and Meta, alongside major corporations and banks like SHB and MB.
One of the key highlights of the summit is the launch of an alliance that comprises reputable Key Opinion Leaders and Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs), businesses, media agencies, and platforms to spread positive values, foster trust, and set standards for the online environment.
The summit is also set to kick-start the Influencer Trust Programme, an initiative to promote responsible influence through codes of ethics, community standards, and a certification system to evaluate the credibility, transparency, and accountability of KOLs/KOCs. This will help regulators, businesses, and brands choose reliable partners, while protecting consumers from misinformation and covert advertising.
In fact, the current legal framework has not kept pace with the rapid growth of KOLs, with sanctions still light and lacking deterrence, while initiatives to support talent development and quality content creation remain limited. Therefore, the summit is expected to lay the groundwork for establishing the Vietnam KOL Alliance, gathering reputable influencers to promote public opinion, fight against fake news, spread digital safety skills, and carry out community projects.
In the context of rapid digital transformation, KOLs/KOCs are no longer just online celebrities but are increasingly becoming guides in the new communication era, shaping perceptions and inspiring millions, especially the youth. The summit calls on the KOL community to join hands in building a safe, civilized, and responsible digital space for the country’s future.
The summit is co-hosted by the National Cybersecurity Association and Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) under the Ministry of Public Security.
