COVID-19: Vietnam records no fresh infections during past 24 hours
VOV.VN - The country confirmed that no new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have been recorded over the past 24 hours, with the national count remaining at 1,049, according to a report released by the Ministry of Health on the afternoon of September 7.
Most notably, September 7 marks the fifth consecutive day that no new cases of community transmission have been detected, in addition to imported cases.
At present, the nation has so far recorded 691 cases of community associated infection, including 551 cases which have been confirmed since July 25 following an outbreak in the central city of Da Nang.
Along with the latest landmark for no new infections, 38 coronavirus patients were also discharged from hospital, boosting the total number of recoveries to 853 nationwide.
Among the positive patients, 14 have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus once, 19 twice, and 353 three times.
The Ministry of Health noted that nine patients remain in a critical condition, although three of the cases have tested negative for the virus three times.
Furthermore, there have been 35 fatalities relating to COVID-19, with the majority of them involving elderly individuals suffering from serious underlying diseases.
Moreover, there are more than 39,970 people in quarantine nationwide after they came into close contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases or who have recently returned from pandemic-hit areas.
