COVID-19: Total recoveries at 815 with no new infections

VOV.VN - With no fresh cases of coronavirus infection, the national tally stays at 1,049 while a total of 815 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered from the disease, the Ministry of Health reported on the morning of September 7.

Of the overall number of infections, 691 are cases of local transmission and 358 are imported ones which were immediately place into isolation upon entry into the country.

The total figure of infections related to central Da Nang city, the country’s biggest COVID-19 outbreak hotspot, stands at 551 since July 25.

There have been 35 deaths from the novel coronavirus so far and the overall number of recoveries amounted to 815 after 10 more COVID-19 patients, all from Da Nang, were discharged from hospital after going on to make a successful recovery on September 6.

According to figures released by the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, among the active cases in treatment, a total of 86 have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at least once or multiple times.

Over 39,900 who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantine for health monitoring, including 903 at hospitals, and more than 39,000 at other concentrated facilities and the remainder at homes or places of residence.

Meanwhile, the central city of Da Nang eased its social distancing measures starting from September 5 after bringing the COVID-19 pandemic under control. The city has gone eight days with recording no new coronavirus infections.

Airlines, railways, and passenger cars are set to be allowed to resume operations as of September 7 while restaurants, shops, food and beverage establishments are now able to offer takeaway services in the city.

Elsewhere in the nearby province of Quang  Nam , entertainment outlets, bars, karaoke parlors and dance clubs resumed operations from 6 am September 6 after more than one-month hiatus.

Festivals, religious events and other cultural gatherings are permitted in the locality but local residents are advised to comply with epidemic prevention regulations such as donning facial masks, using hand sanitizer regularly, keeping a safe distance in public and avoiding large crowds except for schools, offices and hospitals.

Quang Nam registered the second highest number of locally transmitted cases at 96 after Da Nang -the biggest coronavirus outbreak spot- recorded 389 cases of local transmission since the resurgence of the disease in late July.
