All 22 Vietnamese students win medals at AIMO 2025 in Japan
VOV.VN - All 22 Vietnamese students have won prizes, including 10 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze medals at the Asia International Mathematical Olympiad (AIMO) 2025 held recently in Tokyo.

Notably, Phan Thanh Huy, an 11th-grade student from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, secured a Champion title, the highest score in the High School division. There were nine Champion awards given to winners across all of Asia.
“I just aimed to win a high prize, but didn’t expect to come out on top. It’s a surprising and happy moment,” said Huy.
Other medals were bagged by students coming from various provinces and cities across Vietnam, including Nghe An, Quang Tri, Bac Ninh, and Hanoi.

AIMO 2025 organisers praised the Vietnamese team's performance, calling it a promising sign for the country’s growing talent pool in mathematics. They expressed optimism that Vietnamese students would continue to excel on the global stage in the years ahead.
AIMO, organised annually by the Asian Mathematical Olympiad Committee based in Hong Kong, is one of Asia's most prestigious English-language math competitions. Since joining in 2019, Vietnam has rapidly risen through the ranks, consistently bringing home high honours at the event.
The 2025 edition attracted more than 3,500 contestants from 21 countries and territories in Asia. Next year, Vietnam will host the 2026 competition.
