Air passenger from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi fined for bomb joke
VOV.VN - A Vietnamese air passenger en route from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi has been fined VND4 million upon arrival for making a joke about having a bomb on the flight.

The incident happened after Malaysia Airlines flight MH752 from Kuala Lumpur landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at midnight on June 22.
When a flight attendant asked the passenger, born in 1987, about a black box he was carrying, the man responded in English that it was a “bomb.”
The flight crew immediately reported the incident to airport authorities who quickly coordinated to handle the situation. An inspection later revealed that the box only contained a computer keyboard and mouse, without suspicious or prohibited items.
During the investigation, the passenger admitted he made the remark as a joke, not realising the seriousness of the statement. Based on current regulations, the Northern Airports Authority issued an administrative fine of VND4 million.
Airport security agencies urge passengers never to joke about sensitive topics, not to carry or pack imitation weapons or explosives, and to cooperate fully with security screenings and questioning. Passengers are also encouraged to remind companions, especially children, not to joke about such matters in any airport or on board aircraft.
