35-seater passenger bus overturns on Tam Dao Pass, heavy casualties reported
VOV.VN - Heavy casualties were reported after a 35-seater tourist bus overturned on Tam Dao Pass in Vinh Phuc province, northern Vietnam, on April 26 morning.

The serious traffic accident occurred at around 9:50 A.M. when a tourist bus traveling from Hanoi to the popular Tam Dao hill resort overturned at a sharp bend near Tam Dao town, according to local police.
Several ambulances and rescue vehicles were dispatched immediately to the scene. Many passengers were reported injured and trapped inside the vehicle.
At the time of the accident, the tourist bus was carrying 17 people, said a local police officer, adding, 3 fatalities have been confirmed, and 14 others have been injured.
At the scene, approximately 20 meters of the guardrail along the road were smashed. The bus was found overturned, with significant damage to the windshield and several windows of the vehicle.
Rescue teams are continuing to work at the site, clearing the wreckage and assisting the injured passengers.
The authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident, but the damage to the vehicle and the surrounding infrastructure indicates the severity of the crash.
Tam Dao Pass is known for its steep and winding roads, which become especially hazardous during the rainy season. Traffic safety experts advise all drivers to maintain low speeds, keep safe distances, and stay alert when navigating this mountainous route.
