2025 Christmas celebrations in full swing in Central Highlands
VOV.VN - This Christmas season, the festive atmosphere is spreading across parish neighborhoods in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak, as local people excitedly shop for unique decorations to create a warm and joyful ambiance for their families during the holiday.
Over the past week, the Catholic community at Chau Son Parish in Cu Ebur Commune of Buon Ma Thuot City, has gathered to decorate and prepare for Christmas celebrations. Everyone is enthusiastic, from those stringing lights and running electrical lines to those repairing the nativity scene, constructing gateways, meticulously attaching cotton tufts, and taping details onto the large nativity display.
“Every year, according to tradition, we build nativity scenes and decorate the village streets to beautify the scenery for Christmas. At the same time, this is a way to honour God and foster a spirit of unity among the local Catholic community and people from all over the regions,” said Tran Trong Khanh, head of Hamlet 2, Cư Êbur Commune.
Despite the busy coffee harvest season, the Catholic community in Ea Tieu Commune, Cu Kuin District, has spent time decorating their homes and parish areas.
“Compared to last year, this Christmas feels more exciting because the economy is better, and almost every household is decorating. Families, neighborhoods, and even every street corner have their own nativity scene. It's a very festive atmosphere,” said Nguyen Phuoc Thanh, a resident of Hamlet 1, Ea Tiêu Commune.
Sharing the same excitement, Tran Thi Anh Thi, from Tan Thanh Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, noted that this year’s Christmas decoration market offers a wide variety of designs and colours, allowing for endless creativity.
“I decorate Christmas traditionally as we do every year in my family. We reuse our old Christmas tree and buy additional items only if needed. This year, I like the silver tone, so I just bought a few extra silver decorations.”
Le Thi Kim Anh, a shop owner on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Buon Ma Thuot City, stated that this Christmas season features many beautifully handcrafted items that showcase meticulous attention to detail.
“Customers are buying much earlier this year, especially restaurants, offices, and cafes, as they want to decorate early to attract patrons. At this time, families typically buy both trees and nativity sets. With the growing economy, demand is higher, and designs are getting more beautiful,” said Anh.
As Christmas approaches, the bustling and joyful atmosphere reflects the excitement of Dak Lak’s Catholic community, welcoming a New Year filled with hope and happiness.
