National Assembly to ensure every promise delivers results

VOV.VN - In his closing remarks at the Q&A session of the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man has stressed that the National Assembly would continue to accompany, monitor and push for the implementation process, while ensuring every promise turns into results and every commitment delivers concrete change.

After a day and a half of serious and focused work, the National Assembly on June 20 concluded its Q&A session at the 9th sitting of the 15th legislature.

The session featured 97 questions and 17 rounds of debate. Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong participated in responding to questions. Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, on behalf of the Government, delivered a report and directly answered questions raised by NA deputies.

Chairman Man noted that the two topics selected for this session were of major importance. They have a direct impact on macroeconomic stability, people’s lives, and the future development of the country. The issues raised were relevant and timely, reflecting on the concerns of voters, the public, and National Assembly deputies.

He praised the deputies for bringing the voices of the people to the legislature with frank, insightful, and well-informed contributions. The session maintained a vibrant and candid atmosphere, marked by a constructive and responsible spirit. Most questions were on-topic, specific, and clear. Nearly all deputies raised just one issue and used their allotted time effectively.

Many questions focused on institutional and practical challenges, with a strong call for the Government and ministries to continue reforms, act decisively, and adopt effective measures to promote fast, sustainable national development in line with public expectations.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, other Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers, and sector leaders were well-prepared, demonstrated a sincere and responsible attitude, had firm grasp of the issues, and did not avoid difficult topics. They provided direct answers along with specific commitments and proposed solutions for the period ahead.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man called on the Government, ministers, and sector leaders to thoroughly consider the deputies’ opinions and translate it into concrete actions and policies that improve people’s lives, enhance the economy’s internal strength, and build a substantive, skills-focused education system.

He stressed that the National Assembly would continue to monitor and push for implementation, to ensure every promise becomes a result and every commitment translates into real change.

Looking ahead to the 10th sitting this October, the top legislator said that the National Assembly will, in accordance with the Law on Oversight Activities of the National Assembly and People’s Councils, review reports on the implementation of resolutions from the 14th and 15th National Assembly regarding Q&A and thematic supervision. This "follow-up supervision" shows the National Assembly’s commitment to thoroughly tracking and overseeing previously reviewed and questioned matters.

He also asked the Government and ministries to prepare reports in advance; urged NA committees to innovate their methods of appraising those reports to ensure accurate assessment of how well the resolutions are being carried out; and encouraged deputies to actively monitor, research, and study the issues to be well-prepared for questioning.
