More incumbent, former officials disciplined

The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission proposed and issued disciplinary measures against several officials of some localities and ministries during its 53rd session held in Hanoi from January 6 to 8.

During the meeting, chaired by Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of the Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu, participants looked into the wrongdoings by Duong Van An, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Phuc provincial Party Committee, and former Secretary of the Binh Thuan provincial Party Committee.

The commission concluded that as Secretary of the Binh Thuan provincial Party Committee, An had broken the Party’s regulations and the State’s law during the performance of his assigned tasks and duties, as well as in the combat against corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena. He had also violated the rules on the things that Party members are banned from doing, and on the responsibility for setting good examples. His actions led to serious consequences and undermined the prestige of the local Party organisation and administration to an extent that requires a disciplinary measure.

Given the Party’s regulations, the Inspection Commission proposed competent authorities consider and impose disciplinary measures for An.

The commission also looked into violation cases in the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Lang Son, and Binh Duong, along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It found that Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Board at and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province, had infringed the Party’s regulations and the State’s law during the performance of his assigned tasks and duties, along with in the combat against corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena. He had also violated the rules on the things that Party members are banned from doing, and on the responsibility for setting good examples. His actions had resulted in serious consequences and undermined the prestige of the local Party organisation and administration to an extent that requires a disciplinary measure.

Meanwhile, Le O Pich, member of the provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, former member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, former member of the Party Civil Affairs Board at and former Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang province; and Ly Vinh Quang, former member of the provincial Party Committee and former Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Lang Son province had shown degradation in political thought, morality, and lifestyle. They had violated the Party’s regulations and the State’s law during the performance of their assigned tasks and duties, and in the combat against corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena. They had broken the rules on the things that Party members are banned from doing, and on the responsibility for setting good examples. Their actions had resulted in very serious consequences and caused highly negative impact on the prestige of the local Party organisations and administrations to an extent that requires disciplinary measures.

Nguyen Hoang Thao, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee at and former Director of the Department of Public Security of Binh Duong province; and Vo Thanh Duc, former member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, former Secretary of the Party Committee at and former Director of the Department of Public Security of Binh Duong, had infringed the principle of democratic centralism, the working regulations, the Party’s regulations and the State’s law during the performance of their assigned tasks and duties, as well as in the crime fight. They had violated the rules on the things that Party members are banned from doing and on the responsibility for setting good examples. Their actions had led to serious consequences and undermined the prestige of the Party organisation of the public security sector along with the sector itself to an extent that require disciplinary measures.

Regarding Nguyen Nhu Hieu, member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Cell at and Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Provincial under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he had violated the Party’s regulations and the State’s law during the performance of his assigned tasks and duties, along with the rules on the things that Party members are banned from doing and on the responsibility for setting good examples. His actions had eroded the prestige of the Party organisation of the diplomatic sector and the sector itself to an extent that requires a disciplinary measure, according to the Inspection Commission.

The commission decided to issue warnings against Nguyen Hoang Thao, Vo Thanh Duc, and Nguyen Nhu Hieu; along with a reprimand against Nguyen Tan Tuan. It proposed competent authorities impose disciplinary measures against Le O Pich and Ly Vinh Quang.

During the meeting, participants also examined irregularities by the Party committees of the departments for civil judgment enforcement in Hanoi and Hai Phong cities. Some other important issues were also put under consideration.
