Vietnamese ranking officials disciplined for wrongdoings

VOV.VN - The Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam have decided to reprimand several ranking officials for wrongdoings they had committed while in office.

The Politburo and Secretariat made the decision at a meeting in Hanoi on March 28 with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in the chair.

Major General Do Huu Ca, former director of the Police of Hai Phong City, was expelled from the Party for his serious violations of management rules, causing great property damage to the State, adversely affecting the reputation of the Party organization, and resulting in public frustration.

The Secretariat also expelled three other officials under its management from the Party.

They are Nguyen Dong, head of the Information and Education and former deputy head of the anti-corruption committee of Hoa Binh province; Truong Minh Hien, former head of the administration of Ha Nam province; and Vu Huu Song, former director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Nam province.

The Secretariat maintained that these officials had shown decadence and decline in political thought, morality, and lifestyle, while violating the Party’s rules and the State’s laws, causing a serious property loss to the State.

The Secretariat proposed competent authorities to administratively discipline these individuals in tandem with the Party discipline.
