PM launches nationwide emulation drive towards double-digit growth target
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung launched a nationwide emulation drive aimed at achieving sustainable double-digit economic growth in the 2026–2030 period, at the first meeting of the Central Council for Emulation and Commendation in Hanoi on April 15.
Addressing the meeting, PM Hung, who is also chairs of the council, noted emulation and commendation work has seen positive and substantive improvements in recent years, closely aligning with political tasks across sectors, localities, and agencies. Emulation movements have been renewed in both content and format, contributing significantly to socio-economic development, national defence, security, and improving people’s livelihoods.
In the context of emerging opportunities and challenges, the Prime Minister called for stronger reforms in emulation and commendation work, emphasising its role as a key driver of national development. He urged that emulation movements should inspire a spirit of dedication, foster innovation, and create momentum for breakthroughs.
A key proposal put forward at the meeting was the launch of the 2026 nationwide emulation campaign that focuses on major priorities such as accelerating economic growth, advancing digital transformation, promoting science and technology, reforming administrative procedures, and building a clean and strong political system.
The Government leader also stressed the need to bring emulation movements closer to grassroots levels, improve the quality of local officials, and diversify implementation methods to ensure effectiveness.
Regarding commendation, he underscored the importance of timely, accurate, and deserving recognition, along with efforts to highlight and replicate exemplary models and best practices.
The council also discussed plans to implement upcoming emulation campaigns and reviewed proposals to confer prestigious titles such as “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” and “Hero of Labour” on outstanding collectives and individuals.
The Prime Minister called on council members to uphold responsibility, contribute practical ideas, and enhance the effectiveness of emulation and commendation work in the new development phase.
