Party leader To Lam offers incense to Vietnamese state’s rulers
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam and other Vietnamese party and State leaders on January 31 offered incense to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and Emperor Le Dai Hanh at the Special National Relic Site of the former imperial capital of Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh province.
The worship is part of activities getting underway to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – 2025).
At the Temple dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang, To Lam expressed profound gratitude for the immense contributions of the Emperor, who ended the era of Twelve Rebellious Warlords, unified the country, established the Dinh dynasty, and founded Dai Co Viet, the first centralized feudal state of Vietnam. The founding of Dai Co Viet in 968 marked the end of territorial fragmentation and the unification of the Vietnamese state.
By naming the country Dai Co Viet, assuming the title of Emperor, and designating the reign era as Thai Binh, Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang affirmed national sovereignty and the aspiration to build an independent and prosperous nation. This was a pivotal milestone in Vietnam’s historical development.
At the Temple dedicated to Emperor Le Dai Hanh, the Party leader paid tribute to the remarkable achievements of the ruler, who called upon and led the people to decisively defeat the invading Song dynasty (980-981) and safeguard the nation’s borders against disturbances from Champa. The Emperor’s exceptional military prowess made him an undefeated general in Vietnam’s history of national defense and unification. Under his rule, Dai Co Viet achieved significant economic, cultural, and diplomatic advancements, strengthening national independence and laying the foundation for the prosperity of subsequent dynasties.
In the solemn and sacred atmosphere, To Lam and other Party and State leaders vowed to continue to uphold the revolutionary spirit and patriotic tradition of the Vietnamese nation. They pledged to overcome challenges and strive to fulfill development goals and steer the country towards a new phase of development, marking Vietnam’s emergence in a new era.
Also in this morning, General Secretary To Lam and the delegation offered incense at the Temples of Emperor Ly Thai To, Emperor Tran Nhan Tong, and other revered figures at the Kinh Thien Altar area in Gia Vien district of Ninh Binh province.
