Party leader To Lam offers incense in tribute to late leaders
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam offered incense in commemoration of Party General Secretaries Le Duan, Do Muoi, and Le Kha Phieu at their homes in Hanoi on January 16, on the occasion of the coming Lunar New Year 2025 and the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The three late Party General Secretaries guided Vietnam through challenging periods, including war, economic crisis, and post-war recovery.
Le Duan (1907 – 1986) continued the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh in leading the resistance against US imperialism to victory in 1975. He played a key role in post-war rebuilding efforts.
Meanwhile, Do Muoi (1917 – 2018) and Le Kha Phieu (1931 – 2020) helped transition Vietnam’s economy from central planning to a more market-based system, marked by the Đổi Mới (Renovation) policy that significantly shaped the country’s economic trajectory.
Their introduced policies focused on boosting agricultural productivity to reduce poverty and improve living conditions. They also helped Vietnam strengthen its international ties and become more engaged in global economic and political landscape.
Party chief To Lam respectfully offered incense in honour of the significant contributions made by the three late General Secretaries to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the state. He expressed deep gratitude to these predecessors for their sacrifices in securing national independence and freedom, as well as for the happiness of the people.
In the warm atmosphere of the approaching Lunar New Year, the Party leader inquired about the living and working conditions of the families of the late Party General Secretaries, and expressed wish that they would continue to uphold the family legacy and strive for achievements in their work, actively contributing to national development.
He extended his best wishes to the families of the three late Party General Secretaries in the Lunar New Year 2025 – the Year of the Snake.
