Party chief: Vietnam’s achievements stem from Party leadership
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam on April 3 highlighted the role of the Communist party of Vietnam in the country’s development process over the past decades, emphasising that all victories of the revolution have stemmed from the sound leadership of the Party.
He made the remarks while presiding over a ceremony at the Party Central Committee headquarters in Hanoi to present high-level State decorations to senior leaders for their outstanding contributions to building the Vietnam People’s Army.
Among those honoured were State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and other senior officials from the Party, State and military. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and senior Party officials also attended the event.
At the ceremony, the First-Class Military Exploit Order was awarded to President Luong Cuong, while Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the First-Class Independence Order. Similar high-ranking decorations were also conferred on several senior leaders, including Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang.
Speaking at the event, Party chief To Lam described the awards as special recognition by the Party, State and people for the recipients’ outstanding and enduring contributions to national construction and defence.
He noted that throughout their careers, the honoured leaders have worked alongside Party and State leadership bodies to direct and implement many strategic tasks, including strengthening the armed forces, consolidating national defence and security, and contributing to major socio-economic and security programmes.
“The most commendable point is that in any position and under any circumstances, they have demonstrated the qualities of senior leaders with strong political resolve, strategic vision and decisive action, always matching words with deeds and taking responsibility in the face of challenges,” he said.
The Party chief stressed that the ceremony was not only to honour individual contributions but also to reaffirm a fundamental principle that Vietnam’s achievements are rooted in the Party’s leadership, national unity and the dedication of cadres and Party members.
Looking ahead, he called on the recipients to continue contributing to the Party and the nation, as Vietnam enters a new development phase with both significant opportunities and challenges.
The country, he said, must continue to strengthen its all-people national defence and security posture, build a modern and capable armed force, maintain political stability and safeguard national interests early and from afar to ensure sustainable development.
On behalf of the award recipients, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong expressed confidence that under the Party’s leadership, Vietnam would continue to achieve its long-term development goals and move steadily towards becoming a prosperous and developed nation.
