National Assembly wraps up year-end session

VOV.VN - The sixth session of the 15th National Assembly concluded in Hanoi on November 29 after 22 and a half days of sitting.

Deputies passed seven bills and eight resolutions, and debated eight other bills. Among the approved bills were those on the ID card, housing, real estate business, water resources, telecommunications, global minimum tax rules, and value added tax reduction.

They agreed to allow the piloting of a number of specific policies to speed up the implementation of 21 important national projects and key road projects connecting regions and localities.

The National Assembly spent 2 and a half days questioning the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers and heads of several over issues of voter concern. It also conducted a vote of confidence for 44 high-ranking officials elected or approved by the legislature.

In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue underlined the need to give top priority to promoting economic growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring major balances of the economy amid global uncertainties in 2024.

Another important task for the government, according to the legislative leader, is to renovate growth models, restructure the economy, improve the business investment environment, and increase the quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the economy.

It’s imperative to perfect legislation, promote administrative reform, especially by reducing and simplifying administrative procedures and business conditions, and speed up socio-economic infrastructure development projects, he stressed.

He also asked the deputies to regularly maintain close contact with, listen to, and honestly reflect the opinions and aspirations of voters nationwide.
