The 15th National Assembly is scheduled to convene its year-end session in Hanoi from October 21 to November 30, with a break between two phases. Phase I will take place from October 21 to November 13, and Phase II from November 20 to November 30.

According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the coming session, the eighth of the current legislature, will focus on lawmaking, in addition to discussions on socio-economic development issues, state budget matters, oversight, personnel, and other important issues within its jurisdiction.

The legislature is expected to review and approve 16 bills, of which 11 were debated during the seventh session, along with two draft resolutions. It will also consider 12 other bills formulated for the first time.

Notably, the legislature will review and decide on the investment policy for the national target program on cultural development for the period 2025–2035; the establishment of Hue city as a centrally run city; and the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project.

It will also examine and approve major socio-economic development tasks for 2025, the last year of the national five-year development plan (2021-2025). Vietnam aims to record annual GDP growth of between 6.5% - 7% on average, and its GDP per capita will hit between US$4,700 – US$5,000 by 2025.
