Comprehensive support policies needed for war invalids, national contributors
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam has said revolutionary contributors are a valuable national treasure who deserve comprehensive care both materially and spiritually, and should continue to serve as a source of inspiration for future generations through their resilience and enduring values.

The Party leader was speaking during his visit to Thuan Thanh Centre for Wounded Soldiers Nursing and Rehabilitation in Bac Ninh province of July 15, in the leadup to the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).
Talking to wounded and sick soldiers there, he expressed deep appreciation and profound admiration for these national heroes who bravely fought and sacrificed their youth and health for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
“Despite the wounds left by war, you have preserved your revolutionary spirit and optimism. You are shining examples for future generations,” he said.
He also commended the dedication and professionalism of the centre’s medical staff and workers, who, though working quietly behind the scenes, have brought warmth and excellent care to the wounded soldiers.
“The Party, State, and people of Vietnam consistently uphold the principle that those who rendered the service to the revolution are invaluable national treasures and sacred symbols of patriotism and Vietnamese moral tradition. Gratitude and remembrance are not merely policies, but moral obligations and political responsibilities of the entire system and society,” the General Secretary stated.
He also called on the centre to continue working closely with relevant agencies to ensure that support policies for wounded and sick soldiers and the families of martyrs are implemented fully and promptly, in accordance with laws and regulations.

He urged Party committees, local authorities, and especially the labour, invalids and social affairs sector and the Bac Ninh Department of Home Affairs to pay greater attention to improving the quality of life for the contributors, not only through care but also by creating conditions for them to continue contributing and sharing their resilience and life values with the community.
“I hope our wounded and sick veterans continue to live joyfully and healthily, carrying on the tradition of ‘Uncle Ho’s Soldiers’ and serving as role models for younger generations,” said the Party chief.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented gifts as a gesture of gratitude to the wounded and sick soldiers at the centre.
Established in 1965, the Thuan Thanh Centre currently cares for and provides treatment to 84 severely wounded and sick soldiers from 13 provinces and cities nationwide. Among them, 51 were injured during the resistance war against American imperialism, and 33 others were injured during the border defence wars, international missions in Laos and Cambodia, and during the post-war reconstruction period.
