VOV.VN - Vietnam is prioritising the attraction of high-quality foreign investment projects, including those from Thailand, featuring advanced technology, modern governance and strong linkages with domestic businesses.
Party General Secretary and State President To Lam made the statement during his meeting in Bangkok on May 27 with Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, a senior executive of Thailand’s TCC Group and President and CEO of ThaiBev.
According to the Vietnamese leader, Vietnam is continuing efforts to improve its investment climate and it is encouraging major Thai corporations to expand operations in sectors that generate higher added value, promote innovation and support sustainable development.
He stressed that economic cooperation, trade and business connectivity remain among the key pillars of the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
He also highly valued TCC Group’s operations in Vietnam and encouraged the conglomerate to further expand investment in ways that strengthen science and technology application, improve corporate governance, protect the environment and contribute more actively to local communities.
The Vietnamese leader noted that Vietnam is entering a new phase of development focused on digital transformation, innovation, green growth and deeper international integration, creating new opportunities for foreign investors with long-term strategies.
For his part, Sirivadhanabhakdi said Vietnam is currently one of TCC Group’s key markets in the region. The Thai conglomerate is operating across multiple sectors in Vietnam, including food and beverages, retail, finance, real estate and agriculture.
He expressed hope that Vietnam would continue facilitating favourable conditions for foreign-invested enterprises and long-term business expansion.
In the coming period, the group plans to study opportunities to expand into logistics, recycling and several emerging business sectors in Vietnam.
The meeting took place during the top Vietnamese leader’s official visit to Thailand from May 27–29, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and ongoing efforts to deepen the Vietnam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
