Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh concludes Russia visit
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh returned to Hanoi on March 26, concluding a successful official visit to Russia from March 22 to 25 at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
During the visit, the Vietnamese leader and other officials of the Vietnamese delegation engaged in an intensive schedule of nearly 30 activities. He held talks and meetings with key Russian leaders, including President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mishustin, Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matvienko, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, and Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu.
Through these engagements, both sides reached a high level of consensus on further strengthening political trust and mutual understanding, building on the long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries and their peoples.
A key highlight of the visit was the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Vietnam. Prime Minister Chinh and Prime Minister Mishustin witnessed the signing ceremony, which marks a significant milestone in the official resumption of Vietnam’s nuclear energy programme.
The Russian leaders, representatives of political parties in the State Duma, and executives from major Russian corporations expressed strong support for advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, emphasising its benefits for both peoples as well as its contribution to peace, stability, and development in the region and beyond.
During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation also toured leading Russian economic, scientific, and educational institutions, attended the Vietnam–Russia Business Forum, and held meetings with major Russian enterprises. The Prime Minister also met with traditional friends of Vietnam, including members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Russia–Vietnam Friendship Association, and war veterans’ organisations, as well as nearly 300 members of the Vietnamese community and students residing in Russia.
