PM proposes Tatarstan build Kamaz auto plant in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan expand cooperation in Vietnam, including building a Kamaz automobile manufacturing plant in the country, during his meeting with R.N. Minnikhanov, head of the Republic in Hanoi on March 21.

The PM welcomed Minnikhanov’s visit as well as the results of a business meeting between Hanoi and Tatarstan, believing that the leader’s visit would strengthen ties between Vietnamese localities and Tatarstan, thereby enhancing the Vietnam-Russia Strategic Partnership.
He also reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to fostering the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, highlighting positive growth in various fields, including high-level exchanges, and economy-trade-investment, culture, tourism, and education cooperation.
Minnikhanov shared Tatarstan’s strengths and interests in cooperating with Vietnam in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), information technology, automobile manufacturing, chemicals and petrochemicals, civil aviation & helicopters, food processing, textiles, furniture production, and education.
He also proposed establishing a direct flight route between Kazan and Hanoi to boost trade and tourism cooperation between the two sides.
PM Chinh acknowledged Tatarstan’s goodwill and agreed with the guest’s proposals to expand cooperation between the two sides. He encouraged greater engagement between Tatarstan and Vietnamese localities, including people-to-people exchanges and stronger bilateral connections.
At the meeting, Minnikhanov extended an invitation to the Vietnamese PM to visit Tatarstan again at a suitable time.
