Vietnam attaches importance to cooperation with Russia, says diplomat
VOV.VN - Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to its comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, describing the country as a trusted and loyal friend, during her meeting with V.V. Potemkin, Deputy Governor of Kaluga region, Russia, on March 12.

Hang lauded the results of cooperation between the two countries’ localities in recent times and said Vietnam encourages cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Kaluga, particularly in high-tech agriculture, science, nuclear energy, aerospace, and education.
She thanked Kaluga for creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese investors and assured her host that Vietnam stays ready to facilitate businesses from Kaluga in their operations in the country.
Potemkin, for his part, acknowledged long-standing Vietnam-Russia friendship and sought Foreign Ministry support for future joint projects.
Kaluga hosts many outstanding Vietnamese students in nuclear science, reflecting strong educational cooperation between the two countries, he said.
He expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam, while recalling his role in the construction of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant and sharing his wish to bring Kaluga’s performing arts troupes to Vietnam.
Both sides agreed to coordinate commemorative activities in 2025, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations, 80 years Russia’s Victory Day and Vietnam’s independence, and 50 years of Vietnam’s reunification.
